Send My Friend to School

17 July 2019

Education is a universal human right. It is the key to a positive future for individual children, whole communities and the wider world. That’s why, back in 2015, world leaders promised quality education for all. However, despite this global commitment, millions of children remain locked out of the classroom simply because of who they are and where they live.

Access to education and learning is not a level playing field. Children are experiencing unfair treatment for many reasons – including having a disability, being a girl  in a place where gender discrimination is rife, living in a rural area, experiencing poverty or being caught up in an emergency. And many children experience several of these factors at the same time, in overlapping and reinforcing ways – increasing their exclusion. Inequality starts before the first day of school and means the most marginalised start education already significantly behind.

2019 is crucial in the journey to unlocking education for all children because this year the international community, including the UK for the very first time, will be reviewing its progress against its own goal to ensure education for all.

Join thousands of young people across the UK in creating eye-catching paper keys depicting the inequalities in education across the world and add a written message to your MP to call on the Government to unlock education for all children. Join the campaign today to Unlock Education for Everyone!
