Year of the Dog

Created by

British Council

According to the Chinese Lunar Calendar, on 16 February 2018 we enter the Year of the Dog. This education pack is aimed at primary schools and aims to help teachers and pupils to learn about this spring festival whilst exploring Chinese language culture. Pupils can read traditional stories providing some background to the Year of the Dog, as well as letters from Chinese children about their pets. Pupils can also get creative by making clay dogs and cooking Chinese dumplings. More information and a schools pack are downloadable free at: https://schoolsonline.britishcouncil.org/classroom-resources/list/year-dog-primary-teaching-resource
