The Send My Friend to School website helps schools get involved in the Global Campaign for Education for all children.

Over the last few years, thousands of schools and millions of pupils have taken part in the Send My Friend to School campaign and because of what they have done some governments, including the UK, are doing more to ensure education for all. This has meant 25 million children have started school. But there are still some 75 million children who miss out because of poverty.

Send My Friend to School is a great way to introduce global issues into your classroom. It would make an ideal active citizenship project, or whole school activity. The website includes free downloadable lesson plans, suitable for many subject areas, including: PSHE, Citizenship, English, RE and Geography.

The lessons can be used as a series, or you can mix and match them to suit your class and time frame. This year their focus is on #MakeSchoolsSafe; currently 246 million children experience violence at school every year and this campaign aims to demonstrate to children the importance of using our voices to make global change happen.
