A great resource for the study of globalisation, this DVD takes the city of Bangalore, known as the Silicon Valley of India, and asks what are the causes of its success – including the role of education, globalisation and government de-regulation? It then goes on to look at the social, economic and environmental impacts of its growth and asks is this “World City” sustainable? It then explores how the public and private sector are addressing the problems by providing better transport, infrastructure and access to services.
As well as the 40-minute film, there are extensive teachers' notes and student activities. The resource links in with many GCSE exam board specifications; for further details, visit the Pumpkin Interactive website.
