Through exploring stories of the lives of the people of Myanmar, pupils can consider and contrast oral history traditions, daily life, cultural and religious traditions with their own community and share their thoughts with a partner school in another country. The stories on the Kite Tales website chronicle the memories of ordinary people across Myanmar whose voices were silenced by years of dictatorship. They are a snapshot of history, taken as the country looks with hope to a more equal future. The resource includes an education pack published by the British Council and a further six lesson plans on the Kite Tales website, designed by the British Council in Burma, to explore aspects of life and culture in that country.
