World from our Doorstep Practitioner Handbook - CDEC

A comprehensive teaching resource which supports teachers at EYFS and KS1 (ages 3-8) to introduce global learning through  the themes of interconnection, fairness and sustainability. Contains a wide range of activity ideas, all of which are adaptable to the age range you are working with. The activities in this handbook have been developed by teachers and practitioners in schools and nurseries in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Poland and the UK as part of the World from our Doorstep, an EU-funded project. This aimed to develop an approach to global learning for teachers and practitioners working with younger children (aged 3-8). Teachers involved in the project worked together to explore what complex global themes mean for younger children, and how they can be incorporated into teaching and learning in ways that are fun, engaging, relevant and meaningful. All the activities are written with the 3-8-year-old age range in mind; some are more suitable for younger children and some for older children. Most of the activities included are adaptable to reflect the needs of the age range you are working with. The handbook is designed so you can work through it from start to finish, or use the sections in any order. The Practitioner’s Handbook can be bought from CDEC’s website here https://www.cdec.org.uk/resources-for-sale/5/World-from-our-Doorstep-Practitioner-Handbook-Global-Education-for-children-aged-3-8/
