KS2: ages 7-11KS3: ages 11-14KS4: ages 14-16Teacher's PackImage

These materials focus on the question ‘How does a city meet its future needs?’ with a fascinating case study concerning the supply of clean water to Birmingham in the 19th century.

The book comes with 8 A4 black and white photos. Source material is provided to assist the students’ enquiry and to encourage them to formulate their own questions. The reasoning behind the plan is explored and a role-play activity enables students to consider the differing views of people affected in some way by this project. Links are made with more recent major water projects.

This is an excellent set of very well produced materials that will certainly interest students.
