The Atlas of Climate Change

Mapping the World's Greatest Challenge

KS4: ages 14-16KS5: ages 16+Book

This atlas examines the reasons behind climate change and its possible impacts on people, health, water resources, ecosystems, coastal cities and cultural treasures. It reviews historical contributions to greenhouse gas levels, progress in meeting international commitments and local efforts to reduce emissions.

The book takes a step-by-step approach, looking firstly at the signs of change and what has influenced it; then considering the expected consequences and examining what has been done, at international, national and regional level, to adapt to climate change and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It also looks at what action can be taken on a personal level.

It is illustrated throughout with more than 50 full-colour maps, charts and photographs, which can be used in class to focus on specific aspects of climate change, to generate discussion and to analyse data.
