The mission of Teach A Man To Fish is to make a long term impact on global poverty by supporting pioneering education projects in some of the world’s poorest countries. In collaboration with teachers, it has developed a set of lesson plans and accompanying resources for UK schools. Activities link to many different aspects of the curriculum at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 (ages 11 to 16) including Geography, Citizenship and Business Studies.
Resources can be edited to serve a particular purpose and teachers are free to pick and choose sections of the lessons or activities that they think will be most suitable for their specific classes. The following topics are covered:
- the importance of education and sustainability in the developing world.
- different types of aid with specific reference to self- sufficient education and enterprise.
- a case study of Ahazaza School in Rwanda and the various enterprises it has undertaken in order to become self-sufficient.
