No-Nonsense Guides

No Nonsense Guide to Globalization
KS5: ages 16+Book

This series of guides from New Internationalist focuses on a number of topical issues in the world today, and provides a pocket sized reference point for key concepts. The books are unique in how they place today’s issues into a historical context.

The books aim to be accessible to audiences new to the themes. I’m not sure whether this aim is necessarily achieved for all of the titles. Although the language used is simple, some of the books are more approachable than others.

The case studies, fact boxes and charts are well presented, however, and would make useful discussion or homework topics for A-level students. Altogether the books offer great value for money.

  • Animal Rights
  • The Arms Trade
