Another little book of challenging missions from the Geography Collective, who produced Mission: Explore. Here we have 50 missions that young people could undertake whilst ‘on the road’, ie: travelling around, perhaps whilst on holiday or on a school trip. (I can see this would be a useful book for parents to give children on long car journeys, as some of the missions can be carried out whilst looking out of a car window!)
- Here are a few examples of suggested missions:
- How far did you come? Find the person who travelled the furthest to get to where you are now.
- Landmark hunting – find a landmark on a map and see if you can spot it while travelling
- How far can you travel in the time it takes to count 100 – by walking, running, rolling or dancing?
You could set a few missions as challenges to your pupils – or challenge them to come up with their own! Another book in this series is Mission: Explore Camping.
See also the Mission:Explore website where explorers can collect badges for doing different missions.
