Yet another brilliant adventure guide from the Geography Collective. From growing to harvesting; from cooking to eating (and excreting), exciting missions challenge young people to explore every aspect of food you can think of (and many that might never have occurred to you…).
The opening words warn you that “This book will change the way you see food forever” – and they’re not wrong. It’s full of ideas that will make you laugh out loud and think differently. A few of the ones that inspired me were: eat a bunch of flowers; challenge an onion to grow out of a maze; hold an overharvest festival; invent a cheese; and wash up in the rain.
Underlying all these challenges is the idea that we should find out as much as we can about our food – where it comes from, how it’s grown, how it affects us, where the waste goes… lots of serious messages all wrapped up in fun. This book is a fantastic feast for anyone who eats – adults and children alike.
