This film from Show Racism the Red Card tackles a growth area in racism, featuring the views of many top football players and also young people discussing their experiences of and views on Islamophobia.
As well as the film, the DVD includes an education pack with suggested activities suitable for work with upper Key Stage 2 to adult. The activities have been designed to help young people challenge stereotypes and prejudice towards Muslims and gain a greater historical and political awareness of the climate which has enabled Islamophobia to flourish in recent times. They tie in closely with the Citizenship and PSHE curriculum, but could also be incorporated into English, RE, ICT and History.
The activities are well thought-out and are likely to lead to in-depth reflection and discussion. Additional resources are available on the Show Racism the Red Card website. This is part of a double DVD box set, including the DVD A Safe Place which aims to combat racism against asylum seekers.
