Fair's Fair - Inspiring Stories of Fair Trade Champions

This booklet and accompanying teacher notes have been produced by York Fair Trade Forum to tell the stories of some of the many people over the years who have championed social justice and fair trade.
From 18th century anti-slavery campaigners, through the early Co-operative movement, to the 'goodweave' label in Pakistan today, there is a long history, in many countries, of people helping to improve the lives of producers. Read about 10 of these courageous and visionary ‘champions’ in this book, and explore how the fair trade movement has grown.
The teaching ideas are not linked to a specific age-group or curriculum area, as teachers can decide this for themselves. The most obvious links are to History and English, and there are lots of ideas for assembly, whole school activity and taking action. The teaching ideas are adaptable for most ages from upper primary to adult.
