Exploring Climate Change

KS3: ages 11-14KS4: ages 14-16KS5: ages 16+Website

This web-based resource for Scottish secondary schools encourages young people to investigate, communicate and act to tackle climate change.

Sections cover: the reality of climate change; how far humans are responsible; what the current impacts are; and how these might affect the 21st century. There is also a section on taking action, and a ‘Communicate’ section with links to further resources and supporting materials that can be used by young people wanting to create their own presentations on this issue.

Whilst the curriculum links are not made explicit, this resource could be used most obviously in Science or Geography, and the materials offered in the ‘Communicate’ link to English and IT.

It provides educators and students with high-quality information on the Climate Crisis. It is designed to support the Curriculum for Excellence and equip young people with critical thinking skills needed to develop informed opinions on the crisis.
