This book and the supporting web material draws on the creativity of many teachers brought together by Tide~ Global Learning and aims to help start conversations about global learning. It is set in the context of the revised Key Stage 3 curriculum introduced in England in 2008, the aims of which strongly reflect students’ learning needs in a global context.
The introductory section explores the idea of ‘global learning’ and what this might mean in a current educational context. There is then a section about visioning, helping teachers to think through what global learning might look like in their particular school. The next two sections explore the potential for global learning through subjects and cross-curriculum approaches. The final section looks wider, examining the role the curriculum can play in building the society we want in the future. There is also online supporting material available on the Tide~ website.
Altogether, a great resource, easy to read and full of concrete practical examples and points for discussion.
