This course on diversity is designed for use with special needs students, particularly those with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties. Activities are accessible for students with some, little, or no written or spoken language. Appropriate for students aged 16 and older, because while being cognitively suitable for these students, they are presented in a more “adult” style, and feature people their own age. The diversity course includes multimedia presentations of four teenagers from different ethnic backgrounds, who talk about their likes, dislikes, families, and hopes for the future. Instructions are included for assembling a box of their “favourite” things, and simple recipes for their favourite foods. The course includes craft activities, role play and extension activities.
