This book is about the work of aid agencies, with a special focus on faith-based agencies such as Islamic Relief. It explains what aid agencies and faith based agencies do, how they work, where they work, and also what inspires them in the first place. It is illustrated with examples of Islamic Relief’s work, including their support for people in Indonesia following the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami.
The book is suitable for use in RE, Geography and Citizenship at Key Stage 2 and lower Key Stage 3 (upper primary and lower secondary). Free activity sheets to support this resource are downloadable from the Islamic Relief website, although these would be enhanced by more explicit links to the curriculum.
