From UNICEF UK's Rights Respecting Schools team, this is a pack of 10 secondary assembly presentations enabling teachers to explore children's rights with young people aged 11 and upwards. These assemblies introduce the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and explore areas where these rights are denied. They also examine how these rights link to and are impacted by education, health, poverty, climate change and the Sustainable Development Goals. The collection of multimedia PowerPoint presentations is designed to be used sequentially with each assembly building on learning gained through the previous. Teachers are advised to first read the accompanying booklet, which provides a guide, with extra background knowledge so they can deepen their understanding of children’s rights in practice.
