Think Global worked with RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People), to update and develop resources for the ‘Dots Raise Lots’ campaign. The 2018 campaign is designed to help young people and schools learn more about sight loss and help spread awareness of the value of braille as a reading method for blind and partially sighted people. Part of the campaign is also to encourage fundraising to support the work of RNIB.
The new resources can be found and downloaded for free from the RNIB website. The education materials we have produced have spanned Early Years Foundation stage through to Key Stage Four and link directly to the curriculum at each stage and include links that relate specifically to each of the four nation specifications. The resources include ideas for outdoor learning, as well as setting the topic of sight loss in a global context by introducing young people to the Global Goals. There is also an RNIB Challenge Brief available for students to complete as part of the Welsh Baccalaureate qualification.
