8th May is the birthday of Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross, born in Geneva in 1828, and recipient of the first Nobel Peace Prize.

You could mark World Red Cross Red Crescent Day in your school by learning about the activities of the Red Cross and about disaster relief in general.
