Development Education consultation

Have your say on the future of development education in the UK.

The Department for International Development (DFID) are inviting teachers and educators and all those interested, to take part in a consultation on the future of the government supported global learning. This will focus on increasing impact and better engaging UK citizens in tackling poverty and achieving the SDGs. This consultation is a great opportunity to help shape the future direction of Government supported development education in the UK. Last chance to have your say - consultation closes on 31 October. The Global Learning Programme has been extended and will now finish in all four nations in July 2018. The British Council’s Connecting Classrooms Programme also finishes in July 2018. DFID have devised six open questions in this survey as the basis for this consultation which is open until 31 October.  The results of the consultation will feed into consideration of a new programme design for development education. Think Global is encouraging all those interested in global learning to respond to the survey. The six questions cover content, methodology, school partnerships, participation, delivery and design, and research and evaluation. We have compiled some suggested key messages for members to use to assist their own responses. Read Think Global’s key messages. Take part in the survey. As part of the consultation, DFID also brought together key sector stakeholders including Think Global in England on 12 October to gather views.
