Common Wealth, Common Waste
This online resources is aimed at Key Stage 3 Citizenship (ages 11-14) and provides a framework for investigating issues of waste minimisation and recycling in your area. Developed by Global Education Milton Keynes (GEMK) it encourages pupils to think about waste and recycling, and how their own school and community compares with schools and communities in other countries, such as Zambia.
There are classroom activities alongside case studies and background information. There are also ideas for developing oracy skill through a pupils' conference, suggestions for involving artists, musicians and dancers, to enhance a topic and make it come alive.
