This is an excellent series of dual language reading books for pupils at Key Stage 1. They are equally useful for pupils from bilingual families and those from monolingual backgrounds. The series supports the learning of English while making pupils aware of other languages and cultures.
The books in this series pinpoint different food around the world, different reasons for smiling, different ways of celebrating and different things that people carry around, with pictures of children from several parts of the world. At the end of the book, there are guidelines for teachers and recommended activities. It is a very good series that introduces a global dimension to literacy activities. These dual language titles are available in Arabic, Chinese, French, Gujarati, Punjabi, Turkish, Urdu and Vietnamese.
