Every Child of God Matters Everywhere
Global Education in Church Schools
This book of global education guidelines has been produced by the Bradford and Ripon & Leeds Diocesan Education Team for church schools within its Diocese, and is also available for sale to other dioceses and schools. It aims to give the clear message that the Dioceses consider social justice and sustainable development issues to be a central part of the gospel message, and therefore of a church school's ethos.
Illustrated throughout with beautiful photographs, the book gives an in-depth and thorough analysis of why global education is important for all schools, and how it fits into the Christian and church school ethos. There is also a section on what global education means in practice and how you can measure how far you're progressing - using the Ofsted Self Evaluation Form, for example, to celebrate global work.
The final section has a range of training activities enabling staff to reflect on various aspects of global education; these can also be used with students in class.
This is a wonderful, thoughtful book, which will really inspire teachers to get involved in global learning. Whilst targetted at church schools, it is hugely relevant for any school wanting to enhance the global dimension.
