An Oxfam Guide for Schools
Raising money can be a springboard to help young people become active global citizens in a range of ways. This guide has been produced by Oxfam, and sets out important questions to think about before raising money for charity, which includes practical tips and teaching ideas as well as pointing out sources of information and activities to help teachers and pupils get the most out of supporting charities.
Whilst much of the information relates specifically to Oxfam, there is lots of very useful advice that relates to all charities and all aspects of fundraising. These include Institute of Fundraising guidelines on how charities should work with schools, and ideas on how to make the most of fundraising activities for developing students' deeper understanding.
