Devon Development Education
Devon Development Education, based at the Global Centre in Exeter, provides a range of programmes and projects which aim to bring an understanding of global citizenship to the young people and communities of Devon, Plymouth and Torbay. Our initiatives include the development of a trainign package for primary schools teaching French which focuses on Mali in West Africa; early years work to introduce culture and diversity to very young children and those who work with them; support for special needs pupils and their teachers in mainstream schools in engaging with the global citizenship curriculum; and the bringing together of students from various parts of the world to learn how other young people cope with conflict.
Members of the community, university and college students can enjoy a packed programme of events at the Global Centre with information and discussion on issues from local sustainability to world conflict. we also offer a collection of global resources from books and films to artefacts for use by local education providers.
