1-28 February every year. Celebrating the lives and achievements of the LGBT community.
LGBT History Month aims to promote tolerance and raise awareness of the prejudices faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.
For 2013 the theme of LGBT History Month was "maths, science and engineering".
The LGBT History Month website has lots of useful background information and resources for schools, including toolkits and suggested lessons.
The Amnesty International UK website has some teaching resources around the theme of sexuality rights.
You can find an assembly script, lesson plan and film clips about LGBT issues on the TrueTube website.
